Most questions are answered below. For anything else, email [email protected] with the level you were on and what happened. The in-app feedback form in Settings works too, and it includes your app version for us.

Playing

Why did my stones snap?

Two dark (pull) stones got within reach of each other and slid together. The snap card replays it in slow motion and circles the two stones; the line under the title names the drop that caused it. Tap "Watch it slowly" to see it again, Undo to take that drop back, or Try again to restart the level.

What does a push stone do?

Tap Push in the hand tray before you drop, and the next stone lands white side up. A push stone shoves nearby stones away and never snaps with anything. It can still shove a pull stone into another one, so mind where the shove goes. Levels show how many pushes you have under "CAN PUSH".

Why is the ring smaller than when I started?

The rope tightens after every drop. That is the rule from Garden 1 level 2 on. Stones that were safe early can end up pressed together, so plan the whole hand, not just the next drop.

How do hints work?

Tap Hint once to see the red zones each stone can reach. Tap it again to get a safe spot from our solver; that second tap spends one of your three free hints for the day. "All Gardens" gives you three hints on every level instead.

How many undos do I get?

Three per level. Undo removes your last drop and puts the stone back in your hand. The Daily Ring has no undo; it is one clean try for everyone.

What do the stars mean?

Stars come from how much calm space is left on the board when you clear it. Three stars means the stones barely stirred. Every clear also adds a stone to your shelf (tap the star count on the home screen).

Daily Ring and Play together

Is the Daily Ring the same for everyone?

Yes. It is built from the date, so everyone in the world gets the same ring that day. It changes at midnight UTC, which may not be midnight where you are.

My Daily score is not on the leaderboard.

The leaderboard needs Game Center. Open the leaderboard from the Daily card and sign in when iOS asks. Scores are verified by replaying your moves before they post, so a score from a try that was interrupted may not appear. The leaderboard also needs an internet connection; the puzzle itself does not.

How does Play together work?

Pick 2, 3 or 4 players on one phone. Each player gets a hand of stones (8, 6 or 5) with two push stones. Drop one, pass the phone. Snap two pull stones and you take both back. The first player to empty their hand wins. Use Leave on the pass screen to stop a match.

Purchases

What does "All Gardens" include?

Gardens 2 and 3 (thirty more levels) and three hints on every level. It is one purchase, made through the App Store. There is no subscription and nothing else to buy.

I bought it but Garden 2 is still locked.

Open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchases while connected to the internet, signed in with the Apple Account that made the purchase. If it still does not unlock, email us with your App Store receipt and we will sort it out.

New phone. How do I get my progress and purchase back?

Progress comes back on its own if iCloud is on for Snapstone on both phones. The purchase comes back with Restore purchases in Settings. If you turned iCloud off, progress stays on the old phone only; we do not keep a copy.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the purchase. We cannot issue refunds directly.

Settings and devices

How do I turn off the music or the buzz?

Settings (the gear on the home screen) has separate switches for music, sound effects and vibration. The pause menu inside a level has sound too. The phone's silent switch also mutes the game.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Every level, the Daily Ring puzzle and Play together work with no connection. Only the Game Center leaderboard and buying or restoring "All Gardens" need the internet.

Which phones does it run on?

iPhone running iOS 17 or later. There is no iPad or Mac version yet.
